HP Deskjet Printers - Color or Black Ink Not Printing

This document is for the HP Deskjet 2510, 2511, 2512, 2514, HP Deskjet Ink Reward 2515, 2516, 2520hc All-in-One, and HP DeskJet Ultra Ink Advantage 2529 printers.

The printer is working, just the printed output is missing black or color ink, or the printed folio is blank or has very little ink.

You need the full HP software to complete some of the troubleshooting steps in this document.

I do not have the full HP software

If you have not installed the full feature software, follow these steps to download the nearly recent version of the printer software, and then go on with the solutions in this document.

1. Turn on the printer.

2. Disconnect the USB cable from the printer, if necessary. The software installation prompts y'all to connect the cable if needed.

2. In the printer software, click Impress and Scan ().

3. Click Maintain Your Printer (). The HP Toolbox opens.

4. Click the Device Services tab.

5. Click Clean Ink Cartridges, and then follow the on-screen instructions to clean the cartridges.

6. After running the tool, click Print to print a test page. If the print quality is withal unacceptable, follow the on-screen instructions to run a Second-level clean.

note:

To avoid issues that require cleaning, always turn the printer off with the Ability push button.

Mac Os X

1. Click the Finder () icon in the dock. The Finder window opens.

2. Click the drive your HP software is installed on (for example, the Macintosh HD drive).
